The end of this stick extension is a combination of slightly under engineered and fatigued which means it had gotten to the point of needing repairs a few times a year. This jaw Pittman arm was supposed to go up for assembly this morning when it was discovered that the toggle seat groove was completely trashed and the machine shop had missed it. I spent the day building up and grinding both faces to get it as squared up and tight as possible. Its not brand new perfect but it turned out pretty damn good. A long awaited shop equipment upgrade! The first step was converting the loader to a universal skid steer attachment to make adding new pieces easy and change overs fast. The old Massey doesn't exactly have modern universal spacing so blank attachment plates and cutom brackets were required. I had just enough ½ plate kicking around to make brackets. Surprisingly enough, t his was my first time installing catwalks / underguarding. The job went pretty smooth and the parts fit quite nice, they needed to be cut to length for the size of machine, but minimal screwing around otherwise.
