Emergency thumb cylinder mount repair

Emergency thumb cylinder mount repair in the bush. The factory as well as the install welds on this bracket were pretty suspect and when combined with some fatigue made for a rapidly growing problem.

I cut out a bunch of the existing welds, cracked welds and prepped the crack. Proper preheat, multiple smaller passes and run ins will hopefully help the repair last a good while longer than the original. I also radiused the edge of the bracket to take away the sharp corner.

I don't have really see a good application for a doubler plate in a situation like this, if anything re doing the cylinder mounting plate larger and out of thicker material would more beneficial. If the quality of the original install was better I doubt a failure would have occurred in the first place.

Opted to remove the cylinder for better access, because we have the capabilities so why not do the job right?
