Cutting up scraps, crops and used cutting edges to make this bucket as good as possible. A bit more time put in but the customer has all this stuff laying around so they aren't putting out money for materials. Material costs get big quickly when you get into this size of equipment. This thing is covered in old, cracked, hard surfacing which is causing issues and needing removal via gouging and grinding before welding which is adding a lot of work.
I cut the pieces of 2" by hand, some with a straight edge, some freehand. #1 propane tip, 50psi of oxygen and 12 psi of propane, you don't need anything fancy just some practice and a steady hand.
