Just the tip, or in this case 3. This thumb was straight up worn down to nothing.
I used some cad and hand drawing to come up with a template for new tips as well as layout to trim the thumb ends. I managed to handcut some old cheek plates to save some $ and a trip to get pieces burnt. I fit everything up nice and straight and welded it together. I fit everything square and prepped the joint 1 side at a time with the gouger, probably a 90% pen joint, I feel comfortable it'll wear out before breaking.
